Practical Guidance on Teaching Sustainability Now Available on Workshed

Now available for download from the Workshed website, a new report full of practical suggestions for how sustainability can be enhanced in civil engineering teaching.  Think Up produced the report, with funding from the Royal Academy of Engineering, and the Joint Board of Moderators, the body responsible for accrediting UK undergraduate civil engineering courses.
Follow this link to the Undergraduate Staffroom area of the Workshed website to download a copy of the report.
The report identifies three challenges that engineers must overcome to make progress in the field of sustainable design: complexity; values-based decision-making; and interdisciplinary working. The report then sets out nine principles for how these challenges can be overcome in undergraduate teaching.

Over the coming weeks, we will be serialising the contents of the report on this blog, allowing giving readers the opportunity to comment on the suggestions inside.
